Following on from his critically acclaimed EPs ‘Mine Canary’ (2010) and ‘Castle Class’ (2012), Ivan Moult launches his debut LP through Bubblewrap Collective. Two years in the making, ‘Second Guessing’ sees Moult’s trademark breathy, breathtaking vocal offer nods to the 1970s acoustic folk of Nick Drake or John Martyn, while broadening out to conjure the lovelorn tragedy of troubadours such as Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley.
Lead double A-side single ‘I Know I’ll Never Be Born Again / Most Of All’ was characterised by the inclusion of bass, drums, electric guitar, violin and cello; all contributing to an unflinchingly emotive introduction to the LP. Accompanying the launch of the album is further FREE single ‘Lazy Day’ which offers more glimpses of the stylistic songwriting range Moult has developed, evoking the upbeat pastoral acoustica of Paul Simon. The single can be downloaded from the Bubblewrap Collective SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/bubblewrapcollective/ivan-moult-lazy-day
