HMS Morris are a band who thrive at the crossroads of art-pop, theatricality and fearless exploration. Described as “innovative, forward-thinking pop music” (Earthly Pleasures), “strange and beautiful” (Electronic Sound), and “a multi-dimensional sound that traipses across hitherto unexplored regions” (Clash), their music defies easy categorisation – and that’s exactly how they like it.

All three of their albums have been shortlisted for the Welsh Music Prize, a testament to the band’s singular voice in the vibrant Welsh music scene. From euphoric synths to introspective lyrics and flamboyant stagecraft, HMS Morris craft sonic experiences that are as intellectually curious as they are emotionally powerful.

Their unforgettable live shows have taken them across the globe – from SXSW in Texas to KMC in Osaka – as well as appearances at Green Man Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Other Voices and many more, dazzling audiences with a unique blend of joyful chaos and meticulous musicianship. The band were also awarded the Judges Prize at the SUNS Festival of Minority Languages, recognising their boundary-pushing approach to language and performance.

Never content to stand still creatively, in 2025 HMS Morris composed and performed an ambitious sci-fi circus production featuring a flying piano and 50 LED light-show umbrellas – the kind of gloriously unhinged idea only they could bring to life. Whether supporting boundary-pushers like Tricot and Deerhoof, writing music for theatre productions, or headlining their own international adventures, HMS Morris continue to challenge expectations and win hearts wherever they go.

Over the past few years, amongst theatre projects and touring across the UK, the band have been quietly assembling a brand new collection of songs. Now, they are preparing to unveil their latest chapter – new music arriving this summer that promises to push their creativity even further into the unknown.
