Part Time Signals is the musical project of Jacob Church, best known as vocalist and guitarist with Welsh indie-psych outfit Sock. What began as a collection of sketches and demo ideas written in solitude gradually grew into something richer and more expansive when Jacob brought them into a room with friends and collaborators. Those initial song “seeds” were nurtured and reimagined in a live setting, blossoming into the sound of a fully realised band.

The line-up brings together a set of musicians with deep roots in South Wales’ vibrant music community: Sam Barnes (bass), Gavin Jenkins (drums) and Michael Blanchfield (keys). Together, they create a dynamic interplay that shifts seamlessly between subtle textures and more expressive, groove-driven passages. Their collective approach lends the music a sense of spontaneity and warmth, balancing the intricacy of Jacob’s songwriting with the fluidity of live performance.

Musically, Part Time Signals draw from a wide palette: weaving elements of jazz, psychedelia, post-rock and alternative pop into a sound that feels both exploratory and immediate. The songs move with a dreamlike flow, guided by colourful instrumentation and a sensitivity to space and atmosphere.
